Research old and new suggests that the best (safest, most effective & sustainable) approaches to the myriad problems in the Global South hinge on cultural competence (sensitivity & respect) and partnerships that use and share resources. In all aspects of our work we strive to forge strategic partnerships, maintain cultural competence and promote sustainability.
Whether you’re visiting to learn more about the people and the needs in the Lake Titicaca region of Peru and Bolivia, the prospect of supporting our work or joining a mission team, or you’re just curious, you’ll find lots of information here. In October 2010, we made an “orientation” trip to Peru and Bolivia. After months of emails and phone calls, we finally met the couple who launched Mision Fronteras in 2009, United Methodist Volunteers in Mission, Scott Pressman, M.D., and Bev Pressman, MA,Ed., from First United Methodist Church of Boise. We owe them a mountain of thanks.
We arrived in April, got settled in, and are now ready to recieve individual and team volunteers. If you are interested in helping with our work please see the Visit page on this web site.
